I read all the posts with great interest, and have a new slant to ponder not yet mentioned.
What if the caller from Sta-bo, said "somebody is lying", and was thinking out loud about the person who she had already spoken with, not the OP?
I'm with you, I would have felt my integrity was questioned when she said "somebody is lying".
I would have said "Well it isn't me" and hoped the conversation turned better.
I would never have thought of it quick enough, but it would have been nice to say "Well check with the guy who was packing the boxes". But it's hard to think that quickly when somebody just said they you might be a liar.
Well valvestem then she probably wouldn't have followed that up with " when you said you didn't have two mounts my first thought was he's lying" and she did actually say that. Anyway I really am done with it. I installed the mount today I had some other work to do so haven't ridden yet but I can honestly say the mount stopped the bad vibration and seems to be great but a road test will tell the true story. If you can believe I tell true stories
Well now the rest of the story, I finally got the mount on I've been busy and out of the country for a bit. I rode 70 miles it started out great no vibration really smooth I was very happy. But at about the 70 mile mark the motor mount broke. Yep the rubber part on top just broke in half and pushed through the hole where it mounts. I don't know if I did something wrong or not; I just don't know what it could have been that would cause that. So now I have to buy another mount, at least I know where not to go to get one.
In fairness I just looked it over really good and it was my fault. Some how I put the big washer on the bottom instead of in the middle of the mount. DUH so I can't blame the mount for my stupidity. I guess that's what happens when you start a job and don't finish for a month. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Back to the drawing board
