This is ridiculous has anybody heard of customer service? I would tell them to go f off after calling me a liar and so whats the problem with saying your a cop and a Marine? Screw them all and thanks for serving. .. Ok now going to bed bed after a night of too much to drink lol
I've read quite a few similar stories here and elsewhere over the years. In almost every case you can point to one person in the organization that was perceived to be 'less than friendly'. I think it's unfair to brand a company due to the attitude of a single individual.
If you feel slighted or accused by a business' representative then contact that person's supervisor, the owner of the Co., etc., and tell them what you experienced.
If there's a person at Sta-Bo who's accusing customers of thievery, then the management needs to know so as to correct the situation. Frankly, even if there was an assumed certainty (by staff) a person had 'stolen' an item in such a manner, anyone with half-a-lick of sense would not have said so to the customer, nor implied it, either.
A company just doesn't want a lot of bad press. If I owned a company, it would be a strict case of 'if you can't say something nice don't say anything' when it came to my customers.
Call the company. Contact the person's supervisor. Explain to them what transpired.

Have sta bo check the shipping weight of the package they sent you.
2 motor mounts weigh more than 1.
If the shipping weigh is correct for 1 motor mount, then you will be vindicated beyund doubt and owed an apology.
However that is a double edged sword should the package be overweight.
That is dumbest thing I have ever heard. No way do I ever call a non related customer for any reason, even if I thought I did mistakenly package 2 items in a single item order. I would rely on my customers integrity to alert me of a possible mistake I made. If the 2 item customer tells me he only received a single item I deal with him ONLY to rectify MY mistake, period.
I'll tell you a real easy solution. How much was the shipping weight? How much would 2 be? Gotta be a difference.
Bingo!! That's what I was gonna post. The weight will be the factor, or should I say legal factor. However I would have told them I got only 1 even if I got 3...
Ok it was asked several times so I looked on the envelope which is the size of a sheet of paper 8x12 maybe. The label says 1lb the motor mount came in a small baggie inside the envelope and then there were quite a few advertisements in with it. I don't know what the actual weight of the motor mount is nor do I know what the brochures weigh that's why I never brought it up. It doesn't look like an exact weight, I'm sure they just rounded to 1 lb at UPS. I doubt it was one pound even. Anyway regardless there was just one mount, I'm pretty much done with it. It was interesting to hear/read what others thought. I still don't have the mount in yet haven't had the time
the sad thing is a couple of years ago I ordered a guitar amp from a place called unique squared, it was $350. When received it didn't work so I called them and sent it back. A few days later while at work the new amp came. My wife opened the box when I got home I asked what it was she said your amp. I could tell right away it wasn't an amp. It was a box of 4 mixer boards valued at $500 a piece. I called them let them know and sent it back. The were happy campers, they then sent me my amp it worked and I was a happy camper. I like to believe that's what most folks would have done.
I don't know if its the same with UPS but according to the US post office if anyone ever sends you something through the mail that you did not ask for, you should "consider it a gift".....you don't need to send it back or pay for it..if you do pay later for it or send it back that is your choice but not required by law...SOOO, that said the company should have never called you, and just sucked it up....it sounds to me like the person who called you did it of there own prerogative , possibly because they had messed up in the past are close to being fired....
