Default oil capacity

What is the oil capacity of a 2005 ultra classic which a filter change. The reason I ask is it's a trike and I can't put it on the kick stand to check it as per the manual.

Start out with 3.5 quarts and check accordingly. Actual says 4.0, 20-24oz in tranny (run at 22) and 1qt in primary.

Harley didn't change the check oil procedure in the owners manual for the trike?? I'm having a hard time believing it says to check it while hot on the jiffy stand...wow.

Yup to what Dawg said. If you have an oil cooler add another half quart.

In 2005 HD didn't make trikes, they were all customized by other than HD so HD wouldn't have a manual for a trike. In the current HD triglide manuals you will find that there is an "upright gauge" on the dipstick. See attached.

Dawg is right on.
OP, sounds like you need the HD Forums free app for your smartphone, lists capacities and other useful info. Check it out.
3.5 qts. works for me in my '11 RKC. Try it, check, ride, check.
