Default Pitbull Jack question

I received the Dyna pitbull jack I ordered and set it up and tried it out to see if everything was in working condition. when I jacked up the rails and lowered the safety arms I noticed only one side hits at a time. if the right stop is position the left one appears to be 1/2 inch short. if the left side is in position the right side wont clear the metal cleat. Is it normal for the jack to only rest on one safety arm at a time?

I have 2 Pitbull jacks. The Dyna and the Touring models. If I understand you correctly, the safety catches do not engage at the same time. That isn't the way its supposed to be.

Both safety catches should be against the welded stops. If only one is engaged you can effectively say that capacity is cut in half. Call Pitbull. They make a quality product and support it well. They don't want anything but quality associated with their name.

Raise it until both clear the stops. You don't want it resting on just one.

And my PB does the same thing. One side clears the stop before the other on the way up.

So maybe mine is tweaked from shipping. I will get the tape out and check it for square. If i raise the rails up so both safety arms clear the stops and lower it so they will hit the left side will have an approximate 1/2 inch to a full inch gap from the stop while the right one is touching. It seems like the stops are staggered about half an inch with the left side being farther forward. I will post pictures later

It appears that the welded stops are positioned at different distances from the opposing stop when measured from the back of the stop to the front of the rear tubing on the base. here are the measurements I have.

Rear of welded stop to face of rear tubing on base.

Right side Left side
1 stop 4 1/6" 5 1/2"
2 stop 7 1/4" 8"
3 stop 10 1/4" 11 1/16"

is this normal? are they intentionally space out to allow different raised heights where it can be supported by a safety stop?

Mine clears the stops at different heights on the way up, but both settle against them when lowered. Yours may be tweaked.

This is not right. They should be close. You want both safety catches to engage at the same height.

You should be asking pitbull these questions. Not a forum with 10,000 members with different opinions.
