Ok, wife found a hex bolt in the driveway. It looks the same as what holds the Cam/chaincase/clutch covers on....Yet looking all around, I do not see any missing. When I looked under the bike... I did see this under the cam cover
(looking from under the bike...up)....
(I know I need to spend some time under the bike cleaning........ But... looks like something was mounted here??? My maintenance manual shows nothing... any help?
2008 Ultra classic..
Thanks
Rock

Welcome to the forum. Hard to tell from that pic, but I don't think that is where your bolt came from. What is the size of the bolt, take a pic of the bolt if you can.
Mine are empty as well, Just looked. Maybe foe some accessory.
gonna check my manual. I'll let you know but be sure you checked your exhaust bracket. They come out alot and easy to miss.
Check at the transmission side cover (clutch release cover). From 08 and up, they have been known to come out. Check the two bolts down below on the trap door cover under the clutch release cover.
Thanks for reply all... good to know that I did not lose anything there.... wonder what those those threaded holes are under the cam cover then??? I looked all through the maint. manual last night... could not find anything on it.
Still have not found where the hex bolt came from.... gonna rip off the air cleaner as suggested above and check all over that (it is an aftermarket)...
The holes pictured are for the center stand.. and the bolt your referring to probably goes to the lower tranny area where the muffler bracket mounts to the tranny.
