No matter how tight I make the crossover pipe clamp it wont Bite and grab on to the header pipe. I replaced the crossover pipe gasket and clamp and I can still grab the crossover pipe from the left side and rotate it back and forth.
With the transmission bracket bolted up and the left muffler bolted to the saddlebag support the whole things seems pretty solid but Im surprised it doesnt tighten down.
My only guess is that gasket wont let it get any bite and thats just the way it is supposed to be?
No, that is not the way it is supposed to be. You are going to have an exhaust leak. Are you sure they gave you the right clamp? I don't know what else the problem could be.
I put in a new gasket using the $10 harbor freight pipe spreader which worked awesome by the way and I used a muffler clamp instead of the one intended for the crossover because it is a little smaller in diameter.

The pipe is good and tight now.
Guy in service says he sees it all the time.
.
how about a link for that tool....gasket in the crossover connection....didn't know that...will have to check into it.
Im using my phone hope that worked!
Yep there is a gasket in the tip of the crossover pipe alot of people dont notice it. Its almost impossible to install without destroying it w/out pipe spreader.
