Default PC-V Question

2011 FLTRX. Full Stage-1 with a PC-V from Fuel-Moto. I recently had my dealer install SE255 cams and let them dyno the bike. While the bike runs good it detonates/pings like crazy under load. Fuel mileage is good. I have a new map from Fuel-Moto to try instead, but what I am wondering is how do I save the 'dyno' map I have in the PC-V right now? Although its not perfect I dont want to lose it. Can I down-load the existing map first and save? I am not a computer guru by any means. Thanksfor any info.

Why wouldn't you just bring the bike back to the dealer that tuned it and have it corrected?

Connect computer to PCV then click on "Get Map.". Then click on "Save Map" and save with name you like. It should automatically save it to the maps location of the PCV folder. Then "Open Map" and select the map you want to load and then "Send Map" to the PCV. Should see map successfully sent in bottom left hand corner of the PC software box. Now new map is loaded and ready to go.

Thanks for the replys. I would take it back to the dealer who dyno'ed the bike but they refer to the dyno sheet and say 'all the numbers look good to us'! I tell them that the bike 'pings' in all ranges under load and they say its very common for the 103's to do this, even on high octane with a good tune, normal they claim. I really dont think so!!

You might want to install AutoTune.

I added AutoTune to my PC-V right after I installed SE255's. Got it from Fuel Moto.

So far I am very impressed with the AutoTune module. Started with a Fuel Moto map and then I made a few initial ajustments to the air/fuel ratios.

The bike runs great, and does not get as hot. No pinging and very responsive. I set the fuel to 13.8/1 in the cruise ranges and get about 38 mpg. The Fuel Moto guys say that 13.8 is best for keeping the engine cool and responsive.

2004Sierra, with the Autotune you need to run the o2 sensors correct? I currently have mine unplugged and running V&H PowerChamber headers with bungs in them. Gonna try the FM map and go from there. Prior to the cams their map was spot on. When I here the bike 'ping' I just cringe, can't be good for the motor!!

Correct, you have to run the Bosch wideband o2 sensors that come with the AutoTune kit. On the 2010-up bikes you have to weld in the large o2 bungs for the wideband sensors.

When i orderd my dresser duals for the stage 1 Fuel Moto suggested that I put 2009 pipes on my 2010 bike, just in case I ever wanted to add AutoTune. The reason is the 2009 pipes have the large bungs. I am glad I took their advice. AutoTune was a very quick bolt on with the 2009 pipes.

If you ever decide to put AutoTune on your bike I think you will like it. There are no decent tuners anywhere close to me, this is why i elected to go with the AutoTune.

I am confident Fuel Moto will get you very close with one of their tunes.
The SE255 Fuel Moto tune on my bike was very, very close but I had a flat spot in the lower RPM range. They thought it my be the dresser duals causing it. I asked Keith at Fuel Moto about the AutoTune and he said it might help smooth out the flat spot, so I bought it. After a couple adjustments, its perfect.

Not trying to sell you AutoTune, I am just saying it worked for me.
