The other thing I did before installing the locks was to sandwich the d-ring portion of the helmet strap in the saddlebag lid and bag, then locked the bag. The helmet will hang onto your saddlebag but as long as it is not swaying back and forth it will not damage your paint. I only did this when I felt it was not safe to just leave the helmet sitting on the seat or handlebar.

I like a chromed dog choker chain, it stores in very little space when not in use, it is very flexible, and makes stealing mine and my wife's Arai $550 helmets too much trouble. I DO like the cable idea though for when wearing jackets. I can usually put our jackets in the saddle bags, but not always. I might have other valuable stuff locked in there already. I am installing the Detachables Locks as soon as they finally arrive, been on order a long time.

I just put mine on the front shifter peg above my floorboard. It is less noticable there, than hanging it on the grip or on the seat.

I do a similar trick like boarguard does, only I lock the strap under the fuel cap access. When you have the forks all the way over you can set your helmet over the mirror, then run the long strap under the door and lock it.

I leave mine on the highway peg, right next to the U.S.M.C Derby cover. I've yet to have it taken; then again I do have a "USMC Sniper - One shot, one kill!" sticker visible as well. I've had a few chuckles watching people read the sticker than look around.

I leave it on the seat. Never had any problems.

I just hang mine from the right handlebar and then put ole Zed inside to keep an eye on it.

Just don't forget to remove Zed before slapping the brain bucket back on. [sm=oopssign.gif]

If I can see the bike, I'll hang it on the handlebar. Otherwise, I take it with me. Not a big deal.
