Default Steamed up gauges

As the title says, when I ride out, my gauges steam up. Only the small ones though, oil, air, fuel, volts.

What gives? The bike isn't damp or anything?

Anyone else get this and if so, how did you fix it?

Have the same problem. Dealer told me he couldn't solve .... at leats it doesn't affect the dashboard (I know from 5 year of experience now). When riding for a while the damp is gone, but as soon as the bike is in the garage it reoccurs.

the condensation could be due to a temperature differential.

a change in bulbs may help, if conventional, try LED, if LED try conventional.

see if you can drive the moisture out by warming the gauge

you may also benefit from drilling air holes in the gauge body to allow exchange of air.

you may remember that English cars were notoriously hard to start in the wet, often due to condensation in the distributor cap- the "cure" was to drill holes in the base of the cap to allow the moisture out.

Chevy distributors have a door to allow the dwell to be set, which allowed enough air exchanges that this was rarely a problem.

use a hair dryer to heat them up and see if you can get the moisture out

My gauges have sometimes fogged up since day one. It usually dissipates after a few minuets. Always is worse the more humid it is outside. Also, only when I first pull out of the garage.
