other than the zumo what are some recommendations for a good gps for the motorcycle. i really want one with an audio output jack but after visiting several stores it seems like the units don't have that option anymore.

Just to let you know i bought a car/automobile GARMIN NUVI 2555 LMT..
Be sure to understand that car GPS routes are NOT routes.
If you use the HD ride planner or mapquest etc. to make your own routes the GPS will not record it exactly..You will have to incorporate dozens of waypoints to force it in your direction.
I was able to use it on a long trip with dozens of waypoints and the use of a $15 (delivered) cover from ebay..It was not the best cover in the world but it worked.
ebay description(again not the best but it works)
GN032+WPCS-5: Garmin Nuvi 2595 2555 2495 2455 2475 GPS Motorcycle Mount & Case
If you have an iPhone, TomTom app is fairly cheap and I have always been more than happy with how it works
Saves have to lug loads of gadgets and associated chargers, leads etc around
I was thinking along the same lines. I have an android phone and have a GPS/map app called CoPilot. I haven't used it on a long trip yet but do plan on using it to get me to Laconia by way of Canada/Niagara Fall this June. It seems to have some pretty nice features to it. One thing I liked (some may not) was that it stores the maps on the phone, don't have to use up data times for maps or loose them when you don't have good signal.
