I have a 2012 street glide I was told that if I put a screaming eagle super tuner on that I also got to change the ECM is this correct?
I don't think you asked what you meant to ask. B/c of this I'm not sure the respondents read what you wrote, but instead their minds turned it into something that made sense.
The Super Tuner changes the way your ECM thinks. If you were able to buy a Super ECM you wouldn't need a Super Tuner. I think what you meant to ask was more along the lines of, "Do I need to do the Super Tuner if I buy the Stage 1 intake?" Which is actually what I read the first time as my brain tried to make sense of it. The answer btw would be no. The Stage 1 would allow more air but that doesn't mean the ECM has to use the extra air.
Usually people do 3 things all at once though, b/c they tie into each other. Intake, exhaust, and some sort of tuner.
You say later you have Rineharts. When putting a free-flow exhaust on like that you should do the intake and tuner at the same time. Cats are a new thing and I don't have them, but I'd say they should be done at the same time as well.
I was purchasing off eBay and asked why he is selling and that's what he told me so I figured I would ask to make sure
I would STRONGLY reccomend NOT buying a used SE Race/Pro Tuner. As others have said, once they are used it marries/mates itself to the original bikes ECM and can't be re-used.
I read on another site that on 07 and newer that the ecm will compensate for slip-ons and a high flow filter without a tuner or remapping the ecm. Can anyone verify that for me as I am new to this also. My bike is 2012 SG. Thanks

False:
I have had 2 07's and used a SEPST on one, and currently use the Power Vision on the Electra Glide.
If I bought a brand new ride, and did no mods, I would buy a second liscense for my PV tuner just to de-emission a bone stocker, for they are brutally de tuned to meet the EPA's requirements.
Thank's California.........
I would also suggest dont buy the SEPST. I recently posted a question about programing my PC-V which I had bought from Fuel-Moto, already mapped for a '09 96ci Ultra Classic. Traded the bike, kept the PC-V, put it on my '11 RGC 103ci and had the dealer do SE255 cams and dyno and re-map the PC-V. Bike ran ok but 'pinged' in certain areas. Called Fuel-Moto, gave them my mods and they emailed me a new map. Bike runs MINT!! Although they can't be used on 2 seperate bike at the same time, if you ever trade-up just keep the Power Commander. There are alot of supporters of Fuel-Moto on here and I am one of them. Save yourself the headache of the dealer or e-bay and I would suggest you contact them...I dont think you would be disappointed!! JMO.
