Default 2UP advice needed.

I go out on weekends with my girl on my RKC- The issue ive been having is when I stop an put my legs down to hold the bike up the passenger pegs are in my way. She says the saddlebag guard rails are in her way so she cant put her feet further back but its not just her feet its the actually floorboards that hit my legs and it really screws me up.

What can I do? I want her to have a spot got her feet but I dont want drop the bike stopping at a light..

Sounds like you may not be doing things properly. When you come to a stop and your feet go down, your bike should be stopped. You shouldn't have your feet down with the bike still moving forward whereas then your legs would hit the passenger boards. Same when you take off, feet up and go without walking it. The only time the boards ever bother me is when I have to back it up and then they can sometimes get in my way.

Practice, practice, practice. When you ride solo leave the boards down so that you get use to them and you will start putting your feet down a little farther forward instead of under you. If your short and cant reach the ground I can't help you there.

I ride a RK as well with my GF on back.....Never had this problem, but I'd say just to concentrate for a second before you put your feet down and make sure your feet are out from the bike and in line with your body. Sounds like your feet are to far back. Also, make sure are stopped as you are taking you feet of the pegs/floorboards .......you might be rolling forward a few inches once you feet hit the ground.....You'll get it figured out.......if you aren't accutomed to riding double, it takes a bit to get used to it.

You are going to have to get use to it or get your girlfriend her own bike. LOL

Drop your left foot to the ground first when coming to a stop, not both. You'll get it all figured out with a little more experience/practice. Good idea to drive around with the passenger boards down. You will develop muscle memory doing that which will help when momma is on board.

I put my feet down a little forward of my hips instead of directly under me so the passenger boards don't get in the way at stops. They used to get in my way when backing up the bike, but after a couple of thumps my legs figured it out. I'm using the stock FLHR seat.

I suspect you are short (5'7" or less) like me and because of this we are not able to have our legs out far enough from the bike to avoid being hit on the back of the calf by the passenger floor boards. Also, because we are short we end up getting set to put our feet down alot sooner than those not vertically challenged.

I have adjustable passenger foot pegs which we use whenever we are riding around town and have numerous stop light and sign on our route. When this is the case we leave the passenger floorboards up and she uses the adjustable footpegs in the forward position 1 click up from full forward. This position put the footpegs more behind my knees (allowing some flex of foot position) and it also lifts her legs up enough that the saddelbag guards aren't hitting the back of her legs. It's a win/win accessory. HD has them and so does Kuryakyn. Mine were the Kuryakyn https://www.denniskirk.com/kuryakyn/...prd/H50262.sku

My question is how are you braking'

While I use both brakes for stopping the last 6 to 8 feet I stop with the foot brake.

For some reason my stops are much smoother with the foot brake. The left foot hits the ground just as the bike comes to a complete stop with a slight lean to the left. When my foot come off the brake peddle I pull in the front brake to lock the bike in place and the right foot hits the ground.

You also need to train your rider what to do while stopping. The passanger sould look at the back of you head till the bike stops. This keeps her in the center of the seat. If she is turning her head she is shifting her weight.

You may want to look at the Harley Adjustable auxiliary passanger foot peg mounts, PN 54157-10.

This will raise her feet quit a bit and with her feet on the aux peg her knees should be almost high enough for you to use her knee as a arm rest. These are also high enough to flip the floor boards up underneath them.

I had much the same problem and took the boards off and replaced them with the Street glide peg mounts. Check the sig picture.

But my wike is 5'9" with long legs.
