looking at the pic of your road glide, the backrest look like it fits right down on top of the top of the seat, no gap between the bottom of the backrest pad and the seat top.
On mine, there is a gap of about 3 inches, as if I had the pad adjusted in one of the upper height positions. Maybe I've got a defective backrest....
there is a button in the middle of the back that alows the pad to move up and down there are 5 postions I beleive, check and make sure yours is in the lowest position.
I'll give that a try. I've only found three positions on my pad, but will play with it tonight. Thanks for the help. That RoadGlide looks awsome with the lowers, very sharp ride !
my manual adjustable H-D seat (without hrdraulic piston) has four mounting positions to the rear fender/frame (front to back). then there are four height adjustments (up and down),then there is the set screw backrest tilt adjustment.
if needed I can pull the seat and take pictures of the backrest adjusting/mounting options.
well test road the backrest and HALHOGAN said it well. Did not realize how much pressure was relieved off back. Only one note though, at first had backrest set to lowest(vertical adj). This pushed the back rest cushion down on the seat and caused a small bulge at back(lumbar) section of seat, which did push me forward a little when just cruising around. Fixed this by moving vertical adjustment to 1st or 2nd vertical position. All I can say is awsome!
ps sorry no pix (lazy) but its on hd web. -->backrest-comfert stitch adj backrest. msrp 297 around 240 online dealers.
My RK Classic came with the backrests when I bought it used. I spent last weekend taking the narcelle off so I could adjust the handlebars back so I could reach the backrest. My brother, who I got the bike from is 6'4" and the bars were so far forward I was leaning away from the back rest. But all is good and comfy now. I made sure to have the rest on when I was adjusting the bars. Took almost 3 hours to take everything off and put it back on to make a 5 minute adjustment.
