Harley adjustable backrest troubles

I just installed my adjustable backrest, it's all the way forward and won't adjust with the lever. If i sit on the bike and push on the backrest you can tell it's under a lot of tention, but it just won't adjust. I know i must be doin somthing wrong, so i just walked away from it for awhile. Does anybody have an idea off hand what i might be doing wrong.

OK, I figured it out. I had the cable routed the way Harley tells you to in the directions. It was way to tight. I took a direct route from from the adjuster lever to the backrest unit. Works great.

Good job in figuring it out. The back rest will be one of the best things you have put on your bike.

Thanks guys, It's amazing what walking away and a 20 minute nap can do. LOL. I'm looking forward to my ride to work tomorrow, I also put on footboard extenders.
