Just called Corbin to order my solo seat for the 2012 SG. Lady advised that all the 2012 Hollywoods have to have stitching in the form of flames or tribal....? That aint for me so I passed. I am now looking at Danny Gray....any thoughts or feedback? I know he has been doing it a while and is popular but I have never owned nor sat in one of his seats...
I know Corbin and Danny Gray seats are extremely firm. My pal has a Corbin and it's too hard for me. I had a Danny Gray "Big Seat" on 2010 Street Glide which looked nice, but was not an all day seat - too hard and pushed me forward (I didn't need that at 6'3''). I had a Mustang Vintage Solo on my Road King and that was the best seat I've ever had, but it doesn't have the low profile look I wanted for the Street Glide. Next I had an H-D Brawler solo seat which looked great. It feels pretty good at first, but it sat me back and down to the point that I was reaching for the handlebars in a bent over position resulting in a sore back within an hour.
Personally, if I still had my Street Glide, I'd be lookin' hard at a C&C solo seat. I have heard only good things about them.
I just bought a Danny Gray with the airhawk insert in it and would not trade it for anything. Rode 300 miles the other day and felt like i could have rode 300 more.
I have had Corbins on my roadking, road glide and ninja. Love them! I Just picked up a nice used Danny Gray solo with backrest for my '09 Glide. Don't love it? Not uncomfortable but can't really move around on it as it locks ya in one spot?
Corbin has always been about choosing your own leather, studs or no studs, making a seat to match your bike and inseam, etc. If I were you I’d call back to confirm what she told you.
Had a Danny Gray Big Seat and loved it. However, it was firm. I'm waiting for my Danny Gray Big Seat Airhawk. They keep the look and I'm told are an all day seat.
I thank you all. I agree they are firm but once they are broken in I am fine with it. I like the low look and will go to C&C site soon to look.
Ms. Corbin said all the seats for 2012 SG ( Hollywood Solo ) required the stitching due to the design of the seat pan.....no plain black leather. This would have been my 3rd Corbin....
Had my Corbin made from softer foam, yes they will do it!
It's was comfortable right out of the box, no breaking it in at all.
Sorry you couldn't get the seat you wanted, just wanted to post this
as everyone complains about how firm they are.
