Reminds me of after we got back from Daytona in 2010. The weekend after we just wanted to hang out and drink a few vs going on a long ride. The bar we frequent is in the same parking lot as Harley. This was the first weekend they were doing demo rides so we took out a Fatboy and Street Glide. Mistake.....I liked the Street Glide before, but just had to have one after that. I loved my VRod to death...but in November 2010 I traded it for a 2011 Street Glide. I feel your pain man! My wife bucked me on it for months, then finally she gave in. Congrats and good luck!
You will probably win the award for the most expensive Road King ever purchased by a HD Forum member.
I read of a shiek who bought a gold Road King, but he was not a member.
Congrats on the New $coot!
It has always been my plan (and supported by my wife) that I would by a new 2013 Anniversary Edition H-D.
However, I'm in no hurry as I have two bikes I want to sell (have to sell at least one due to lack of space) and will possibly get the new one by next spring.
I'm still trying to decide between an Ultra, a Limited, or a Tr-Glide (as I have other two wheelers that I can ride).
Anyway, yesterday, I met a friend at one H-D dealer (he was looking for parts, etc) and they had a S/E Ultra in that "hot" orange color...WOW!!
Almost $ 40 GRAND out the door!
After that, we cruised into another H-D dealer and they had another S/E Ultra in the even "hotter".....YELLER!! (My favorite as I also have another vehicle this color). Yep, it too was almost the same price as the orange.
I was strong and didn't even ask any questions, but I did take pictures.
Looking can be tempting, especially at something that you don't need.
...already give them money to hold the bike for me!!
Dang, that's the 4th or 5th such story I've read just in the last few days! I don't know if it's some kind of mass hypnosis, or some chemical being pumped into the air or maybe the water; but I'm boycotting the dealerships until it passes

LOL! Well your stories explain all the eBay cycle ads I've seen lately that say "make sure to have your financing and wife's approval in order BEFORE bidding!"
Yes, "SAFETY" is the way to go. Tell her you're not worried about yourself but the ABS will make things safer for her. Explain how they have a new frame which is much "SAFER" Good luck
