I put on 10 Wild ones 10" mini apes, and got away with the stock cables. Just had to extend the wiring. The clutch was too tight in the stock position, just clip the tie wrap, and get some more slack on it, some have even taken off the cable bracket on the nacelle, I left mine on. The brake line also had to be rerouted a little, and was pretty much stretched to the max though, but it works fine.

Here is one thing I wished I had done, extend the wiring with a few extra inches, in case you want to go higher later on.

Thanks for the info I'll make sure to add some extra inches to my wiring. At first I thought 10's would be enough but after sitting on my cousins SG with 12's I see them in my list of over the winter upgrades.

I put the same bars as Ragtop on my Road King Custom. I also extended the wires and reused the other stock cables. I took the clip off the side of the nacelle for the clutch cable because the cable was too tight at a full lock right turn. All better now. Slight bending of the brake line, no big deal. Throttle and idle cables are fine. Anything higher than 10 inches and you will need new cables.

I put the wild ones on mine. I didn't have to extend anything. Just moved the clutch cable

I put 11" bars on my 08 and did not have to extend any wires or brake lines. Did have to move clutch cable out of the fairing, will change at next service. Funny how some people have to extend wires and some don't. Is HD that far off with length's of wires from bike to bike? CRAZY!!!
