Default Caution! Warning!

Straight from the Department of WTF! and Who The Hell Cares!..... there are exactly 150 Caution!s and Warning!s in the 260 page 2011 Touring owners manual.

My son-in-law is an attorney. He'd be smiling now......

Hell, I've been curious about some things that were more off-the-wall than this. This should be titled Harley Trivia. Also, this only goes to show how far manufacturers will go to try and prevent lawsuits in this litigious society.

reminds me of the post by the guy who wanted to sue harley because he couldn't control his bike.

20 lbs pressure in the front tire.

or the guy who put on a new clutch cable and didn't secure it

on a left turn the cable looped around the turn signal and wouldn't allow him to straighten up

warnings and cautions are an attempt to reach some of those owners

I love the examples but I really believe that the main reason for all the attention and caution warnings are for LIABILITY issues. At least they can start with "we warned you". (not just HD, everything)

That manual is full of loopholes and I'm suing. Nowhere was I warned about the severity of paper cuts while reading the manual. The paper did not have to be that sharp. Gangrene could easily set in. Talk about death or serious injury!

Don't blame Harley - blame the litigious nature of the US public.
