Has anyone resently connected anything to 12v dc outlet under seat of 2007 flhtc or flhtcu? Did my home work but still would like some feedback before making connection. Just need to connect a black ground wire and red positive wire so accessary switch will activate it. I think after looking in service manuel that black=ground and orange=switch, the other two wires look like they are for an ingnition activated acc.(always on w/ignition on)and a brake light activated acc(on when brakes applied). (have connectors and hardware already to make connection)
Just thought it would be better to peer into my harddrive and ask before frying wires!
thanks
If you buy the other end of that connector from a dealership, it seems like theres a pinout drawing included with it. I've used them several times on pre-2007, but I suspect nothing has changed.
yes had the useless print out. I think its blackneg. and orangepos. if you want to have acc switch activated connection. will go for it soon and let forum know
went ahead and tried to figure out on my own. this is what I got so far. had to remove battery to look at back of outlet (pia) because outlet was too far down to see back(tried uuurr) . With outlet fastener on top looking down at 4 prongs the top left is ground, bottom left is orange, top right is orange/red(was hard to distinguish from just orange),bottom right is i think yellow orange(bright stripe).going by schematics orange(solid) is for accessary switch live wire. the others once again I think are for accessary for brakes,or want accessary to just go on with engine or all the time.

voodoo:
On my '07 Ultra:
Pin #1: Orange/Red=12v with Ignition Switch in Ignition or Access position.
Pin #2: Red/Yellow=12v with Ignition Switch in Ignition or Access position + Front or Rear Brake activated.
Pin #3: Orange=12v controlled by Dash Panel Access Switch on. (Ign in Run or Access)
Pin #4: Black=Ground
From the '07 Touring Main Wiring Harness Diagram for Acc Connector #4Alocated under seat/in front of battery.
(have connectors and hardware already to make connection)-got order# off another post.
actually just needed single one and 2 pinsfor now but thought I would order what was "writen" on previous post.Thisis what showed up in the mail (27$)(4 single connectors? got a 1 turns to 2 connector and just enough pins(2) for 1 single connector). Just wanted to be prepared but an overkill. But the extra parts might be useful one day?
thanks steved
