If your bike is over 4-6 years old, have the 4 piston units and Harley's soft pads and it's making a chattering noise it probably because you have one or more tight pistons. The only real cure is to overhaul the caliper. Really no big deal. However make sure on the rear that that little rubber button that fits on the caliper were it slides in the stop has not fallen out. They have a little tapered retainer button on the end that goes in the hole and it's easy to shear when sliding wheel and caliper off as an assembly.

I had some mild squeal, recently replaced all the pads with EBC Sintered HH Pads, cleaned everything according to the repair manual and used CRC Disc Brake Quiet per the directions on the bottle. 2,000+ miles and never a peep! Excellent stopping power, very low dust.... and almost most importantly SILENT :-D

I thought my dealer had finally solve the problem on my 2012 Limited, but it's back as bad as ever. I'm getting the brake dust everywhere in the rear. The "roulette wheel" slots in the rear wheel collect a lot of it. Even the tops and side of the bags. Is this a sign of excessive pad wear? It's got to be coming off of something.

Its a sign of a lot of weight moving down the road being hauled up at a red light at ever corner and the updraft of your design. Like the back door glass of a SUV . We probably do not see so much on the front since it is in our food hole and gills
