When steady state riding or mild accel the ignition cuts out for a few seconds then ignites with the corrsponding POW out the exhaust. It seems like its only happening at certain throttle positions. There are no hard codes set and when it's happening the radio stays on so I don't think its a battery issue.
Just wondering if anyone has come across this driveability issue and how it was resolved, thanks!
What bike is it?
What year is the bike?
Is the bike EFI ?
If it is fuel injected try this...
with the bike idling and from right side of bike , kneel down to the rear of the air clearer, with a chopstick or a pencil try moving the wires leading to the injectors and if it cuts out you have narrowed it down .
On some earlier bikes the wires where bundled to dam tight and caused an intermitent short and it will not leave a trouble code.
just my .02 this evening.

It's definately ign, the tach dies then the check engine light comes on. It's just like if your driving and hit the kill switch for a few seconds then turn it back on. KaPow!
