Default Worth it??

Hello, I am new to the forum, well not so new, just never really posted too much in the past. But I wanted to ask what your opinions are in reference to a possible Street Glide purchase. I currently own a 2011 Super Glide Custom, all paid off and only 1500 miles. The bike is sweet, and basically new. My local shop has a 2010 Street Glide with only 10k miles...really nice bike. I was thinking of working a deal to grab it.
I basically ride my bike evereyday to and from work. I will put approx 3-5k miles on this year alone. And I will be doing more two up riding as well.
The bike is nice and just needs a good detailing to make it look like my 2011 dyna, but I wanted to get some feed back on it.
Thanks in advance!

Sounds like the SG would work for you, what kind of deal is the dealer willing to work with you, how much $$$$$?

'Worth it' is an extremely subjective phrase, so yer gonna get varied feedback on that question. Depending on the commute, the Super Glide could be the better choice - or not (smaller bike, more nimble in traffic vs. bigger bike, more comfy and more weather protection). For two-up riding, you'd definitely appreciate the capabilities of the Street Glide vs. the Super Glide (that's why I traded from a WG to a RK). Road-tripping - definitely the Street Glide.

Thanks for the quick reply. Well I really like my dyna, mainly cause its paid off!! Lol
But dealer is willing to give me 11k for the bike and he is selling the street glide for 17k I believe...
It's a sweet bike rides great and is several steps up from where I'm at now, but the bike needs cleaned really well. It's not neglected by any means, just ridden and not cleaned to my standards I guess!! Ha OCD I think.
But the mrs and I Plan on riding to more places if we get it. Is 10k bad for an 2010?

6 grand is alot of money for a radio and a bent piece of plastic, especially on a bike that is heavier slower and not as nimble.

you better test ride and really like that SG.

make sure you really want that before you plunk the money down

well it's like any other deal , if you keep your bike and sell it yourself you will get more for it but it may take awhile and may be making 2 payments , main rule is if you like the deal it is a good one , a big nagotiating thing on here is try to get the dealer to through in a few years of ESP or some chrome cash or both , that kind of stuff dose not cost them as much as real cash , good luck and enjoy the new ride

Thanks for all the in put! I appreciate it.
Yes 6k is a lot of cash no doubt, but dollar for dollar I think the street glide will pull a better resale value. Now as far as the ride I think the dyna rides nice but I do like the comfort of the street glide, it just seems like it does not work as hard at cruise speed.
My only concern really is the 10k miles. I'd buy new but that's like 21k otd. I don't want to spend that much right now. I really like the street glide over my current ride. Lol

You can definitely sell your 2011 Super Glide for more than $11k, it might take a while to sell it, though. 2010 SG dealer priced at $17k is not totally outrageous either. I wouldn't worry about 10k miles. You might be able to offer the dealer what you're comfortable with, hopefully the dealer will accept it. Say, $4500 OTD. Don't forget the sales tax if you sell yours privately and have to pay full tax on the SG.

Once you got on a touring platform, you'll get hooked, even if it's just around town.

My $.02
