Check your tires
Hello everyone, Been lurking around for awhile now and need to add this. Had new tires put on last June,while cleaning bike today decided to check tires. Have 8500 miles on the new set and found the rear tire has a 1 inch crack in the tread, taking bike to dealer and will be replaced for nothing. (dunlop tires)

Where was the crack? Vertical or horizontal? Straight or jagged? Picture?
We just had a post about a cracked tire a few days ago and it got a lot of feedback. He posted pictures. This is your first post and it's about the same thing. Just saying.

Def check tires! I was slacking on checking the air pressure on mine. Rode it in to get a new rear Avon put on and my front was below 20psi but I couldn't even tell by looking at it. Learning experience there!!! Ride safe!

To be safe, tires should be checked every day or at the very least before each ride if you don't ride that often. Its amazing how much pressure motorcycle tires lose. They can change by several psi in a weeks time.

D 408F Beware!
2011 FLHX purchased new one year ago front tire D408F has what appears to be dryrot and cracks on the sidewall. The rear tire has no visible problems.

That is always good advice. Anyone who has ever experienced a flat motorcycle tire will know why. It takes a bit of effort and bike re positioning but I do it often.
