I am rapidly nearing the time I will have to put new tires on the 2012 Ultra. I love the bike, and it would appear have litteraly ridden the wheels off it.
What I am wondering is should I get the large white walls like on the Road King classic, or stay with the thin white wall or black wall like those tires that came with it? The bike is the white one pictured on my signature picture.
What do you think?
Will the big white walls just be too much white?

The issues for me with the white walls are first I don't like the way they look with the stock wheels on the Ultra (I LOVE them on the RKC however) and second; that rear wheel/tire is a pain in the a$$ to clean. The other issue is that the thin WW is a great look but you only have the one tire choice of the D407/408, which was an okay tire for me but not as good as the American Elite I put on the rear 10k ago. I did get over 21k on the front 408, so I may continue to run the thin white up front and the black AE in the rear; kind of the best of both worlds. I have not had an AE on the front yet and wont for a while. Having a choice I'd have a thin WW American Elite.
I voted for all black. Fat white walls would look good on your white bike but you have to keep them clean. How well do you keep the OEM thin whites clean?
Fat brown walls would look horrendous...
I always replace the OEM thin white/brown wall with all black at first tire change.
Had only dunlaps for my bike then went with the ME880. Wide White Wall. Much better tire, have gotten great milage and handling out of them, and have done sum hard riding as well as a couple of trip down to the Gulf Coast from VA. For the long run I would switch.
First I think a WWW on an all-white bike is a little too much, I do love WWW's but with contrasting colors I think they look better than a bike that's already all white. That's just me though, of course other's may love that look.
Secondly and most importantly I don't think they make a WWW that fits your front wheels on that bike. Unless they JUST started making WWW's in that size. I've been trying to get WWW's for my '09 RK standard and the front wheel on my bike is of a size that they don't make a WWW for (the RKC wheel size is different than the standard's cast wheels. I love WWW's and want them for my bike, but so far since I bought it I can't get that size for my front wheel. I'd have to buy a new wheel in the correct size.
