Default Bad experience with local dealer

3 weeks ago sat i took my bike to Heart of Dixie HD to have a rear tire put on. While they had it apart they told me i needed a rotor because it was warped and they recommended putting new pads on with a new rotor because it would squeak using the old pads. Well I knew the rotor was warped so I let them put a rotor and pads on when they did the tire. My bill was just over $500 .
After being there all day wating on them I payed the bill and left. We went strait home 15 miles and parked my bike. The next day I rode it to work and back home 30 miles round trip. After I got home I started looking at the new tire and noticed the belt was very loose (1in deflection). The next day I called the service manager and told him what i found. He sent the same tech to my house while i was at work to tighten the belt (wife was at home). The tech called and told me he tryied tigning it 2 times and that both times after he test rode it the belt stretched and made it loose again and the belt was about to break and not to ride it until I had a belt put on. When I got home I tighten it myself and it is still tight after 300 mile trip. I called the service manager back and told him what i did and he didn't even offer me anything for my trouble. So if your in the Birmingham area and need any kind of service beware of the younger techs at Heart of Dixie Harley Davidson.

Agree HofD has not got a great rep for service. If you need service in the Bham area, ride up to Hanceville and go see Rod at Rod's performance. Great indy shop, good people, fair prices and the work is top notch. Could not ask for a better group of guys.
