Engine misfire
Hey guys I've searched and read similar misfire issues but have yet to find an answer that seems to fit. Ok first the bike, 2000 road glide screamin eagle 1550 fuel injected.
64K miles,500 miles ago changed all fluids, filters, and put in the SE spark plugs, it has been running good until Friday, left work and under acceleration it misfires and falls on its face, I run it home and about half way it clears up. After diner I try to start it and it does not want to idle, pull the plugs they are both black not wet just black I put the old plugs in that were fine and start it and runs ok for a min or so, all I can smell is fuel. Pull the old known good plugs and they are black.test the coil and I get.5 ohms on the front and 1.0 ohms on the rear (secondary)
So I'm thinking coil, talk to the local shop and he says check the gas line in the tank for a pinhole.witch I will but if that is it why are my plugs turning Black? Sorry for the long story any help is much appreciated

If your plugs are black your bike is running rich. Too much fuel or not enough air. By chance do you have a power commander on it? I have had 2 different Harleys with this issue and it ended up being faulty power commanders both times.
yes and no, a misfire will make black.
if the problem is related to inconsistant fuel pressure, the fuel may not be atomizing coming from the injector.

You didn't say if you have a fuel manager, if you do what kind do you have? if you have a power commander, contact fuelmoto because it sounds like its malfunctioning in making you run rich.
