I was thinking that also, the local dlr told me the 203's.Sometimes I have to question what some of these folks tell ya.I will probably be better off just doing a 95" upgrade. Thanks for the reply..
I used to have a 05 EG Classic with the Stage 2 95" 203 cam build, my dad has a 06 Ultra with a 95" 204 cam build which pulls just as good down low as the 203 cam build I had did. He rides 2 up 90% or the time and loves the new power and torque of the build. I've ridden his bike and it pulls nice on the bottom end. If your going to go 95" I would do 204 cams over the 203 any day.
I have a 2003 FLHT with 27,000 miles on it. I'm going to have the 204's installed sometime in Feb. or March. I need to have the tensioners checked, so I thought I might as well do the cams then. I'm leaving it at 88 inches for now. When I do the 95 build, I'll already have the cams in the bike. I'm probably going to go with SE heads with the 95 inch build, also.
I had the SE 204's installed at 52K miles when I had the cam chain tensioners replaced. The dealer said if you ride two up with the tour pac and bags full you would apreciate the extra tq from the 204 vs. the 203. I don't know about all that but I do like these cams. No flat spots in the band and lots of accel power loaded up. IF I ever build a 95cu. in. the cams and adjustablt P-rods are already in there. My .02 cents.[&:]
My 204's w/BB are going in my 2006 Streetglide as we speak. I had them in my 2001 95in Superglide. They pull like a freight train and don't run out until you get to the rev limiter. I have heard that the 203's don't go all the way to the limiter. If you are only riding two up and fully loaded once in a while I would go with the 204's. They are great snappy cams.
PriestFan, After the BB, stock heads 204'sI went to SE Heads. Don't use that combination! (204 & SE Heads)My static compression went too high and had starter "kick back" problems. I had to swapped out the 204's for 211's to get more duration.Extra $$$$$. It runs great with theSE Head, 211combo though. That is the reason I had the 204's for my Streetglide on the shelf collecting dust.
