Default New Year's Good News

I have posted my fair share of complaints about dealerships, quality issues with my bike, and so on... But this post is actually an "attaboy". Right before the end of the year, I was riding and noticed my fairing jumping around. Came home, logged on, and learned a little about broken fairing mounts being a pretty common issue. So thanks to all the folks here at HDForums for yet another hook up... Always learn something here.

So, I trot into a different dealership, ask about getting a 5k service done, along with getting the fairing looked at. They asked if there was anything else, and I mentioned that the software version on my radio is old, and I could never get it to update. We set a time, and off I go. Get a call back, bike is done, by the agreed time, but due to rain, I did not want to pick up. Mentioned my brake pads in the rear were on the edge, so I get those done. Saturday arrives, go to pickup the bike, all the work is done, done right, at the agreed price, no static, no hassle, even got a thank you for the business! I had to stop and pinch myself. Seemed too good to be true. Rode the bike another 800 miles since, and no issues, radio sounds louder, doesn't skip as bad, and having synthetic in all the holes seems to help the bike run well.

Where was I treated so professionally? Patriot Harley Davidson in Fairfax, Virginia. Nice job done by all the folks there! Keep up the good work! Really impressed with the way I was treated, and the quality of the work, and not that far from my place to yours. Cheers!

There are a few good dealers out there, you just have to be lucky enough to find them.

I stop in there everytime I am in DC for Police Week in May. They have always bent over backwards to help the guys I ride anytime thay have a problem. The place is clean and the people always very, very helpful. Big thumbs up to them.

Well, my07 Road Glide is the first HD I've ever owned, but not my first bike. I've had Hondas, Yamahas, and a Kaw before. I recently took my RG in to Shelton's HD here in Goldsboro for it's 1000 mile service. I called in the morning to see when I could get the service done, and the guy said, bring it on today, so I set up and appoijhtment for 1 in the afternoon. If that would have been the Honda shop, I would have had to set an appointment a couple fo days later. So, I took the bike in at 1, and believe me, it was dirty from the previous days riding. Also, I asked them about the "seat running the saddlebag" dilema a lot of us have had and they said they'd look into it and see what they could do. Anyhow, 3 hours later, as promised, the shop calls and tells me my bike is done. I go to pick it up and my bike is sparkly clean (never had ANY Honda or Yamaha dealer wash my bike after a service), and the guy was able to get some spacers put on my bags which is keepeing them from contacting my seat. I usually do my own wrenching, but I wanted the dealer to at least do the first service, in case anything happened. Well, I think I'll take it to them for every service now. With that great of service, I'll take it to them for all of my scheduled maintenance. Kudos to Shelton's HD.
