Who has actually changed from 2:1 to Dresser Duals
I have a delima...
My last bike had a D&D Boss Fatcat, and for my new bike I really want to have the true dual sound but don't want to give up all my torque. Have any of you guys gone from a 2:1 to true duals, and if so, did you feel like you lost a lot in doing so?
My last bike was a 103" and my new bike has a 110" if that would sway your opinion.
I currently have 4" RCX slip ons using the stock headpipe (with CAT) and a map from fuel moto for my powervision.
If you guys think I"m going to lose to much on the low end, I will do one of the Xpipes being offered, but that's only if the concensus is against the TD's
You would "see" the difference on a dyno in comparing numbers. I would suffice to say, that with seat of the pants feel, you won't be able to notice much. If you want duals, I'd get duals.
I had a fat at on my FLSTF, but LIKE the sound of dual pipes. I did not keep the stock cam in the RKC, went with SE 255, which provide torque. So, if you want the dual pipes- maybe go that direction?
Just my .02
I just came from a D&D 2-1... I've ran 3 -4 sets of td's and a couple of 2-1's. It's a crap shoot, the sound from td's is awesome but the performance of a 2-1 is hard to give up.... Anyhow I'm in a dilemma right now as I have td's but wanting a 2-1.... Sorry, I'm no help!!

I would be curious to see the dyno on mine and then have tuned with a D&D....
But still like the sound of my duals, especially after pulling the baffles and taking the fiberglass wrap off and re-installing them. Rumble- Rumble-
I would not go V & H , they are one of the hardest pipes to tune , when I was at Doc's Performance Tuning getting my bike tuned (I run Bassani 2-1) Doc showed me several bikes he had tuned with the Rush True Duals and a 2" baffle and the results were very close to the 2-1 tunes , Doc said if you go True Dual make sure you get 2" baffles in your mufflers and you will be fine , the mistake many make is getting 2.25 or 2.5 baffles
On my previous bike I went from a Rinehart 2-1 to Bub 2" step headpipes with Bub 7 stealth mufflers. I was happy when my dyno numbers were very close and my bike continued to have great performance.
