So, although maybe not the ideal mod, is the HD dealer Stage1 kit (K&N), reflash, and SE Slip-ons enough to make it run decent, meaning heat / lean is not extreme?
Has anyone with an 07 bagger just done this, not this plus SERT, PCIII, etc.?
A good riding bubbie has that setup on his 2003 flht. It is still almost as hot as my 07 and says sometimes is to loud on strips(another thread). Not really a complaint though.

I have an 07 FLHRS on order, that is why I ask. So, is your 07 bagger way too hot?
DCRANER- just in a relative comparison to heat. On 8/31/06 got bike and did notice heat was a moderate( really the only)issue I wanted to address on my bike. Asked my buddie on a ride one day how much of a heat issue his 2003 flh has(w/reflash,se air,se slipons) and he said it does get hot too at stops especially on hot days. thats it.
I also asked dealer and they said it would cool off alot after breakin. ok?
Now with 1500miles on bike, last 300mi with 903 download <--heard it helps heat?,synthetic oil at 1k service, oil cooler installed 2 days ago,and broken in,think its way cooler but its winter here(40 to60 degrees). will see in daytona in march. A fuel air system is next step like pc/sert,but I am really leaning toward not messing with it. bikes got pleanty of power and sound for me. Also got the 7yr warr shabang.
I would not trade it for another bike, love it.

Thanks man. Good points, and I plan on doing things one step at a time.
Break it in dead bone stock, and I think mine when it comes will already have the 0903 adjustment.
Plan then is to ride it and see if it really needs anything more re: heat / lean. My thought is the Stage1 / reflash is not a major expense and maybe worth a try after breakin.
And, great pic of you and the little ones on the bike.
