Black ones from Jescustoms on an ultra. Over 6,000 miles with them on
and they work great

Missiles would already be attached but I can't find the part # for the hangers in the HD book. Kuryaken probably has them

That's my concern as well. They seem to block off, or at least divert, the air away from the top of cylinder head. Especially for those with lowers.

Comments?

Mine are black ones from http://street-glide.com/ . The warmest it's gotten here since I installed them is 95 degrees and the motor doesn't feel like it's getting any hotter to me than before (sorry I don't have actual motor temps or anything, this is just perception-based). Before I bought them I was concerned that as it got warmer I would start getting uncomfortable due to reduced airflow, but the deflectors don't seem to block air so much as re-shape it. They seem to mainly keep that choppy air from sneaking up next to the tank, that's the main source of the problem with turbulence. So the turbulence is gone now, but there's still plenty of cooling airflow over and around the windshield and down low at the legs too.

There are quite a few threads I have read in regards to these deflectors on a SG. The cooling question has also been asked several times. After reading all I could find on the subject on this forum, nobody has written about any cooling issues related to the deflectors.

I just listed a set of Chrome ones in the for sale section as I did not like the chrome and ordered a set of gloss black ones instead.

There are three vendors that I have found that sell these for a SG. www.street-glide.com www.jescustomaccents.com/ and finally a guy on Ebay that goes by the user name of timelessmotorcycleparts

All three are slightly different.

I've had mine from JES Customs for months now and I run them in Phoenix. No cooling issues that I've run across. Plus, Joe is good people. I've talked to him on the phone a number of times and he's as nice as you can get.

I ordered those in gloss black, I also think his will work just fine with Kuryakyn's or HD's driving light setup.

I've put HD fork deflectors on four touring bikes...2 EG, RG, RK,...and find they divert the oncoming air closer to the engine rather than have it blow over my legs. They also reduce the air upflow over the knees and up my chest. HD's are angled in towards the forks so by design grab and deflect air in. Not sure about other types.

I've used them with and without the hard lowers. They deflect more airflow into the engine between the top of the lowers and the windshield or fairing which I believe helps engine cooling. I've had to move the running light/turn signals forward in their mounts, and bend the outside deflector edges forward some so they don't hit the hard lowers when turned.

I ran without one side installed on the first EG. The side w/o the deflector had less airflow next to the engine fins (felt by hand).

Default Fork Deflectors

I installed the HD brand chrome fork deflectors on my 2011 Limited, and I left the hard lowers on as well. The HD catalogue and the dealership parts guy both said they won't fit with the hard lowers in place, but they do fit just fine. I live in central Texas and even in the 100+ heat, I don't have issues with engine cooling. The deflectors eliminate the dreaded up-the-nose updraft which drives me nuts. I can't ride long with my moustache up my nostrils and my eye glasses vibrating holes in my nose. The deflectors fixed that problem.

I have a 2010 flhtk with lowers. I bought those same deflectors even though the fitment says no.. Just for common information.. If you mount them loose and then bend the whole front part forward it will eventually clear the lowers in full turn. Only a 1/4" clearance but they are solid and OMG I can't believe how much updraft is gone.. I had to turn the stereo down a couple of notches.. I got the black ones. I also bought a pair of chrome and the Paugcho ones were to be the proto types but they look so stealth I can't imagine putting those chromes on. Going to return them, I guess. Anyway,, FYI.. if you bend the front or forward facing sides carefully they still look great and there is no way of knowing or seeing they been altered.. WEll worth the money to me
