I'm at a crossroads here, I own an 09 streetglide and i'm considering scrapping the HK unit for something different. I'm sure I'm not the only one with these issues. 1. Sound sucks past 70 mph. 2. If I want to play mp3's through my crackberry I have to fiddle with it cause theres no interface through the radio other than the AUX port. 3. At some point I'd like to intergrate a GPS unit to tie in to the system.
I think the only way you will solve all your issues is to spend mucho pesos. I agree the sound sucks past 70mph. I put lowers on mine and it helped but even though this may sound weird, inserting foam ear plugs helps even more. It blocks the wind noise and allows you to hear the stereo better albeit not a high quality sound. I have a torch and use the aux port and just deal with the fiddling because I will not spend all that money on the ipod interface and a iphone/pod. I think the only other option is to but a new head unit with bluetooth capability. When I needed to use a GPS, I took my Garmin (cheap one of course) and just stuck it on the tach and it served the purpose. I rode a 2200 mile round trip to Sturgis and never had a problem with it falling off. So, these are the opinions of a tight azz but am curious to see what other responses you get...
