If you have the zumo volume all the way up and it's still low through the radio, plug a set of headphones into the zumo. If it's loud through the phones you have a problem with the connecting cable. If you don't get much volume in the phones either, you have a problem in the zumo.
As mentioned above make sure the volume is up all the way on the Zumo, not just by hitting the rubber volume button but go into the menu and select volume. I there you will see navagationa and MP3, ensure it is adjusted the way you want, I have mone at 100% for MP3 and 80% for navagation. if the volume is all the way up...........
There is a free program called MP3 gain, I have used this program with great success. As you may be aware songs on a CD may vary up to 10 or more decibles in loudness. With a program such as MP3 gain you can do two things.........
1) normalize the volume across all tracks (track gain)
2) adjust overall decible value of songs ie, you have songs ranging from 75-85db you can set all of them to 90db volume has been normalized and also raised
This way you dont have to keep adjusting the volume, set the volume and go!
If you are referring to the navagation volume, there are instructions on zumoforums.com that describe how to make the voice on your zume louder by using a hex editor to adjust the voice file on the GPS. I have done this and it also works very well.
Yep, not just the I-Pod but also if you're only using earphones with the Zumo without going through a radio, you need a booster. Instead of the Boostaroo, you can get the exact same booster with the Radio Shack logo for half the bucks.
