I have the power duals on my bike and my bro has the true duals on his after riding his I was convinced his ran better than mine. His dyno shows 5 more HP and alittle more tq. the engines are both 103's 255 cams and the same tuner and the same dude tuned them. The only diffrence other than exhaust is one was done in the winter the other on a warm day.
My Question is has anyone changed out the power duals for the true dual head pipe?
I'd say its me but the dyno dont lie
There are many variables in a dyno tune. Two engines built exactly the same with same intake and exhaust would produce different numbers on the same day, so who knows what would happen on winter vs summer tunning.
what if your build is a little weeker to begin with and the power duals actually got you closer to his numbers, then you change the head pipe, get it tuned and your number are even lower? Big waste of money.
I have run the same bike, an S&S 107", with both TDs and a 2-into-1, and had them setup by the same tuning shop. Same HP, slightly better TQ with the 2-into-1, but the low/mid range torque is about 15% better than TDs. So yes, the numbers look very close, but the torque is in a far better place with my 2-into-1. A bonus is the bike is much smoother and nicer to ride now.
