So sorry to hear about your wreck I know how you feel.
Heal up fast and get them knees back in the breaze.
Now if you have had enough time to post this, then
you have hade enough time to go to the HD web site.
What will your next bike be?
First of all I hope you recover quickly and completely.
Now! After reading all the cliches (everyone is trying to get you, nobody gives a damn about bikes, we are all targets, etc.) that show up in threads about accidents, let me ask the most important question that no one ever seems to bring up...
Did you learn anything from this accident that might prevent another in the future?
In my opinion, walking away from any close call or accident is one of life's greatest learning opportunities you'll ever have. I hope you take advantage. And share whatever you may have learned with others.
hope all is well. and you get a good nurse for the sponge baths.
just a question, if you dont mind, i used to train driver ed for the fire dept. one of the things i did was accident recreation. i always said if your on a bike to stay out of the right lane because people tend to act the dumbest getting off and on the highway. i want to see them put a stop sign at the end of the on ramp to prevent the people from getting on the highway at high speeds and no way to stop fast if needed to avoid hitting a bike. so my question is where did you get hit? and again good luck in the surgery.
Glad you are well enough to tell us what happened. Good luck with the surgery and a speedy recovery.
The only good that can come of a crash like this is if we can all learn a lesson about what to be alert for. If it's not too difficult for you to think about, can you tell us how the wreck occurred?
hope all is well. and you get a good nurse for the sponge baths.

Do you really think people accelerating from a dead stop to merge into highway traffic going 60-70 MPH is a good thing?
I see you are in NY. Did the accident happen in the city? I commute to Manhattan (from NJ) when the weather is nice and am all alert as I was hit (from behind) in the Lincoln tunnel way back in '94. Learned this lesson well and always check my mirrors specially coming to a stop and leaving enough distance from the vehicle in front of me.
I wish you all the best in your recovery and am glad to read that you are relatively fine.
