Then you and I have very different opinions on this matter. If I need to merge into traffic that is moving 60 or 70 MPH (or any speed for that matter), I surely don't want to have to do it from a dead stop. I want to be moving at approximately the same speed as the traffic I'm intending to merge into. That's what on ramps are designed for.
Most be something with the 2011 RK's, I had mine less than a month when I got taken out by a van. Hope surgery goes well and that your recovery is speedy.

What will your next bike be?
LOL most defiantly another Road King love it and can't wait until I am able to ride again.
i want to see them put a stop sign at the end of the on ramp to prevent the people from getting on the highway at high speeds and no way to stop fast if needed to avoid hitting a bike.
Thats the dumbest thing I ever heard. And you taught drivers ed?
OP. Glad to hear your O.K. All these crashes lately. Sux.
Thank you for all the well wishes. I posted a few pics in my garage. Painful setback but I will be back. Plenty of time to plan my next ride!! Again be safe out there.
