Has anyone out there put the new LED harley turn signals on their bikes? I have been thinking about buying them but want some input first. The fron wires look like they are under the fairing. Do the stock signals come with plugs on them so that the new ones can plug into the plug from the old signal? Are you guys happy with these turn signals if you have the LED ones?
I've got the Harley LED Turn Signals both front and back along with a Bright *** Tailight and I've got the Turn Signals set to operate as Brake Lights also.
It's a great setup, very bright. Always have guys asking me about it saying it's gonna be the next mod they do after seeing mine.
If you're gonna do it yourself, be warned, it's a PITA mod to do (Turn Signals).
Just take your time and follow the instructions, even though it was a PITA, I'm really glad I did it.
I did the HD led turn signals up front. I like them, but it was a bit of a pita to do. The problem is you need to pull the spot light terminals out of the factory original plastic housing (you plug them back into a new plastic holder provided in the led kit) without wrecking them - not easy always. One removed easily and the other not so much. Without the hassle of crimping on the new AMP terminal it would have been about an hours worth of work. But, had to run to the dealer, buy the 99 cent part, drive home, and futz with it, so overall - 3 hours.
I'm told they are bright and they look nice on the bike. I've read elsewhere on this forum that some have had problems with some of the leds going bad, so you may want to do some research before you buy. So far mine are fine.
I have the Custom Dynamics setup. Great price and LIFETIME WARRANTY on the LED bulbs. I have had two bulbs burn the LEDS and CD replaced both times no hassle!
The entire bulb does not burn out, just one or more individual LED will go out.
