Did you go in thru the top, or did you cut the push rods, and use adjustable push rods?

I went through the top. I reused my cams and push rods. I didnt have extra cash to get cams power commander and tune. Plus I want a newer ultra and don't want to do all that to this bike and have to do it over on the newer one

I am sorry, but it is amazing what you can do when you don't have money to have it done!
The manual ,and a set of tools, is a great start.
They are not rocket science, pretty simple if you keep it that way.

Being a mechanic is helpful and plus I'm blessed by my lord and savior with an ability to repair things. I had the tools except for the hd special tools and I just improvised on where they were needed. Going to put some miles on it this weekend and see how it goes. We are going on a 4200 mile trip in July if it all works out so I hope it does.

I have a question for you. I'm doing my 06 EGC now with the tensioner upgrade. I am having trouble getting the rear rocker bolt to clear the frame to get it out to clean locktight off threads. Did you have any problems like this?

I just took them out and moved them to get the pushrods out. It's a tight fit for sure.
