This weekend I put on the Road6 lowering kit and set it for a 2" drop. I road back and forth to work on monday and to me it felt harsh. That night I put it in the first hole for a 1" drop and have been riding it the last couple days like that. The ride is better, not as smooth as stock, feels kinda like mash potatoes. Not as harsh as the 2nd hole, but still not as nice as stock. I dont think I like it. Ive ordered the LA Choppers 1" lowering kit, it is supposed to lower it in a direct line below the original mounting point. Will post how that one works.
Let us know how it works out. I went from my old LowRider to a RKCustom that is lowered
front and rear, you give up some of the ride comfort, and scrape the boards now and then.
I am of average height and short on inseam, but my feet hit the ground.

you think you might take some pics of the two kits on your bike so i(we) can see the difference between the two kits?
& whats the price on the two kits or links to the kits you got.
thanks Dave
depending on where you are, you might want to get parts in hand so you can see the differences in kits...
ramjett racing on cave creek stocks alot of that stuff if that is close to you, so does IronHorse also on CC South of Thunderbird
if the lowering blocks don't do it, the 09+ streetglide shocks are down about an inch and offer a pretty good ride. expect to pay $225 from an online discount dealer, and 1/2 that used as take offs. ( make sure they were stored properly with the air fittings capped and the oil still inside.
I run the SG shocks in town and swap to the stock shocks for long trips.
about 7 PSI works for me with the tour pak detached, riding solo at 230#
Ya, not a problem. Supposed to get the LA Choppers kit later this weak. What do you want pics of? The way the bike sits? Or the Kit?
I suggest you give Ron at Bitchin Baggers a call. He is in Mesa. He will cut your original shocks and re-weld and seal for $175. This guy is a pro. He dropped mine 1.5 inches, same ride quality. Those lowering brackets suck!
Drop blocks would not work with my FLHRC leather wrapped bags.
I bought some 11" Bitchen Bagger Drop shocks ,there great.
With the BB shocks no danger of bottoming out and tearing up the wiring harness, They have a stop in them that prevent that.
Also if your lowering you can raise the floorboards a notch to prevent draging. i raised mine.
i also had MeanCity Cycle lower, narrow my stock seat and add memory foam .
whay more thrifty than buying a new low seat . total cost was just under $150 that included shipping both ways.
I used lowering blocks for quite some time and while I never had an issue with the ride (either solo or 2-up) I was never quite satisfied with changing the shock angle. I have an Ultra Classic so I bought used Street Glide shocks which like mkguitar says are one inch lower.
