I went to gas up yesterday and the push button wouldn't push. It was solid. I jiggled the door a bit and finally got the button to push and open. I tried it while it was open and it was solid again. Jiggled the plastic catch and it worked again. It looks like the catch is coming out too far and preventing the button from pushing.
I installed it in Feb and only fueled up 33 times since then. Should have a 1 year warranty.
Just a "aw $hit" moment when you're on E and the fuel door doesn't open..
My pushbutton froze at the gas station after 500 miles on my new 2012. I finally got it open and then it would not close. The black latch then was stuck in the open position. I pulled it out and have not had a problem in the last few fill ups. Bike is in for 1k service and that problem was at the top of my list.

That would suck for sure.
I had one for over 40,000 miles that was even transfered to another bike and never had a hint of a problem. But then I installed it myself.
It might even have been on 3 bikes, I can't remember exactly when I bought it.

I installed this one myself too, 2 screws for the spring and a plastic nut for the lock assembly. With the door open, if I press just a tad on the hook of the lock the button will press.
I had mine fly the coupe while on a trip in April. Cruising east on I-10 I heard a rattling. Finally figured out it was the button. Lightly covered it with my finger and it popped out at me and landed in my lap. When we stopped for fuel I found that the brass drift pin had backed out. Did a quick repair and kept going. On the way home at the last stop I pressed it and all of the pieces went flying all over the gas station. I was able to round them up but replaced it.
I must have had a good one the first time because it actually lasted 21000 miles.
