Sugar, man. I'm glad you're OK. I hope the driver was insured?
The bike can be rebuild, your health is more important.
Having said that, I can understand if you pretty pissed-off.
Keep us posted, will you.

Bummer! Similar thing happened to me several years ago when my Duece was only a few days old. Mine wasn't as bad as yours, I stayed on the bike and the only damage was to the rear fender and lights.

Being rear ended is one of the things that makes me most nervous. I feel that it is one of the most difficult situations to defend yourself against. Glad to hear you weren't hurt too badly.

Glad you're here to ride another day...did they check the gal's vehicle for cellphone impact on inner windshield? Probably why she didn't see you...Facebook's more important...

Sorry to hear about this. Glad you are here to talk about it.

It pisses me off because was she just going to run through the light? You are sitting at a red light and she doesn't see you or the light? Makes no sense. Stupid people should have their driver's licenses revoked for life...

Glad your OK, could have been a lot worse. The bike can be replaced.

The cell phone comment is probably true, I see more and more close calls in traffic because the drivers are on the phone texting or typing something!

I know you cant always be looking over your shoulder, but I was taught a long time ago to always make my stops over to the right or left of the lane and stay in gear, with a escape route and watch your mirrors at the stops. Ive had a few times when I got nervous and was about to pull the trigger on a quick escape between the cars in front of me at the intersection because I spotted a car coming up on me fast and I was not sure they would stop!

My only street accident was not anything as bad as yours but it was at a stop on my Sporty. I was stopped behind a car at a 4 way intersection and the guy decided he wanted to turn right after stopping and setting himself up t o turn left, so he drops it in reverse to back up and then pull forward on the right side of the lane and he backs right into me and knocks me over. Bent the forks, fender, bars and headlamp. The whole thing was slow motion. All he could say was he never saw me behind him (and I was back a good 10 f and visible in his mirrors) because he never looked

Glad your ok, one of my worst fears is being rear ended at a light, when ever I'm at a light I always wait until a car is behind me before I feel half safe, but I still don't relax figuring somebody can hit them and knock them into to me, but a secondary hit shouldn't be as bad. Have to admire your thinking, lol, I remember when I had my first accident, I was flying through the air, thinking I just bought that bike, I hope it's ok, I didn't even know what I hit or what hit me, or where I was going to land, so I can understand.
