Little help please PV download

I have a PCV so I don't know anything about the PV software but when FM emailed a map to me, I double clicked on the map in the email then opened it when it asked. It automatically opened the PCV program and the map was loaded. I then saved the map and named it.
I had to close the PCV program before it would work. It told me the software was already running and my attempt was terminated. After closing PCV I tried again and it worked.
