Stock adjustable backrest pivot bracket assembly for 2006 FLHTCUI was tweeked by previous owner. Original has flexible receiver clip with horizontal dual prongs that retain the backrest post. Tried to replace with stock part as per HD, but received pivot assembly with welded receiver clip and single hole for backrest post! Unusable with my backrest! So do I have to replace the entire backrest assembly, just the backrest, or is there another pivot bracket assembly that I need (ordered/recd. 52342-09)?

Adjustable with assembly that is depicted in adjustable rider assembly...the problem with my replacement unit (adjustable rider pivot bracket assembly) is that it is different than stock 2006 as described...
I am having this same problem but didn't get the repair kit yet, was wondering if you could just use the spring in the kit to fix your tweaked two prong holder? Or what did you end up doing?
I know this is an old post, but did you guys by any chance made it work?
I just purchased a new backrest, but this backrest doesn't have the dual prongs on the shaft. Is it possible just to swap out to the new pivot bracket to allow me to but in the new backrest in there without replacing the whole assembly?
