I wish I rode in shorts. It is 94 degrees out right now, the beach is about fifty miles and it would take about six gallons of gas in the truck. Less than two and a half on the bike. Maybe I'll wear shorts under my loosest pair of Jeans, carry my flops and strip at the beach.
My bike albeit fun is transportation. I don't go anywhere but work in long pants. So yea I ride in shorts. I know jeans may offer slightly more safety but then again my truck would provide me a lot more safety. Just doesnt make sense not to be confortable And for the record I dont give 2 ***** what it looks like I wasnt trying to impress you in the first place.
LMAO So true
I ride in shorts and sneakers when the weather is right. But I never get on the Highway with Shorts on. Nothing over 45mph in shorts. But the 15 minute ride down to the beach to get my ice coffee and watch the teenage girls walk past me in there skimpy bikinis at the Dunkin Dounuts to get there Ice coffee ( I need to find a better spot to watch though, Haven't seen where they take there money out of yet)
I've ridden in shorts in the past, not much anymore. Had a Heritage Softail Classic. Heat from the engine wasn't an issue. Own an Ultra Classic now, big difference. I look at it this way... Does it look stupid? YES! Is it comfortable? YES, on some bikes. As others have stated, it's not gonna make that much of a difference if you go down at higher speeds. Riding a motorcycle is a luxury, ride in comfort
When I see someone wearing full gear in 110 degree Arizona heat I do tell them they're a f**k tard.
In actuality I really don't care what people wear. Helmet, no helmet. Jacket, no jacket. Boots no boots. Preventative is fine and dandy but I have had a buddy die from head injuries wearing a full face helmet. Rash all over their legs wearing jeans (if you think a $20 pair of Levi's is gonna save you, keep dreamin).
No more $20 Levis. When you see somebody wearing full gear in hot weather, they are probably cooler than you are in your T-shirt. I have a Mesh armored jacket with zip out lining. I'm cooler than with just a T-shirt. When stopped it's a different story.
