I use the RAM X grip for my iphone 6 plus and use the GPS feature. The way i see it, i've already got my cell phone with me so why not use the GPS features it already has built in. If you're concerned about cellular coverage you can purchase offline maps for your phone (tom tom, etc.). I also like it because i have my phone connected to the HK radio via the aux input and listening to internet radio and when i have the GPS running in the foreground it lowers the volume on the radio and gives me turn by turn. Pretty sweet setup IMO

This is great thinking. Outside the box for sure.

I did a write up years back on mine in which a did a custom Ram mount and film canister...
For me the cradle in which the Zumo 550 sat in was something I did not want to see sitting on my bike weather it be the bars or the dash...
When removing the cradle there was the power and voice wires in which would have been dangling open to the environment...

Since I bought mine the cradles have gotten better looking in which they weren't so bulky looking so the GPS model that you use will help
Dictate which direction you go...

This was not something I wanted when unit was not on the bike so I came up with something else to hide everything...
I'm on my wife's IPad and don't know how to cut copy and paste, however I did a complete write up showing what I did some years ago...

When the ram arm and cradle are off the bike the finnished look with the film canister tucked between the clutch perch and bar isn't a nuisance
And looks very professional...I have since done some research on flee bay and have found aluminum pill canisters which would look very cool...

Good luck with what ever route you decide to go...what ever you do will be something you'll have to live with, however with a bit of imagination you
Will be able to come up with your own signature mount...just keep in mind the wires...

Thanks TBH. I read yours years ago when it was new and reread it when you put it on here. Still deciding but have taken bits and pieces from many and hope to come up with something uniquely all mine.

@Ultranutz..I ride and compete in some of the scavenger hunt type rallies....I use the 665 to program my route, and the 660 to search for additional points and locations. I have done it with one unit, anytime you start searching for additional locations you run the risk of loosing your route.
