Default LRS X-Stream Review

My X-Stream arrived today, and I gotta say, I am very impressed. This 10" shield gives me as much wind protection (to my head and face) as my 15" winter shield. the air flow is perfect for my height. Plus this shield looks badass. One of the best looking shields on the market.

I have to say that there are two small things that could be better: First, the way it is swooped directs air directly at my ears when my freedom wings are completely closed. but if I open them up just about 1/3 of the way, it works perfect. and the second thing is that it shakes / vibrates (no noise though) in the 1500-2500 RPM range. Not really a problem, but I just found it a bit weird.

I would recommend this shield to everyone, but I would caution you to make sure you get the right height. The medium tint is darker then expected, and the curves distort your vision if you are looking through it. Neither of these are issues with me, but if I was a shorter guy, I would need a lower shield.

Here are a couple of pics:

Looks good! Glad you like it! The vibrating is probably due to the design of that particular shield. It's tricky to make a shield that shape and make it 100% vibration proof without making it crazy thick. : ) Looking good!

Looks almost like a Klock Werks shield

Default tall

If you don't mind me asking, how tall are you, and are you using the stock seat and suspension? I'm 6' 34" inseam, and have the stock seat and suspension, and am thinking of getting one of these to replace my 8" ultra.

I am 6'0 with a long torso, (30") inseam. I am on a road zeppelin seat, so I am sitting about a half inch to an inch taller then the stock seat. (depends how much air I have in the seat). I have the stock suspension, with LA Choppers 1" lowering kit.

How does your 8" ultra work for you? If you think 2 extra inches would be ok with the ultra then you should be good with the 10" X-Stream.
