Why doesn't my stereo always work??
Sometimes when i start my bike up, the stereo turns on, i can change channels, am/fm, etc, but no sound comes out of the speakers. I turn the bike off and fire it up again and it works. No, it's not on mute....i can turn the volume up and see the bars increase, but no sound.
Anyone else? Any ideas?

i do have a JM amp and speakers.....hmmmmm....battery is original, '09

SW is software, there was a software update a year or so ago. But that is not the problem. More than likely you have a fault in the system board, very common with the HK radios. Give Iron Cross a call and ask their opinion.

I have this same issue on my 08. I pulled the fairing and checked the speaker connections and they were all good. I think it may be the switch has a short in it...

On mine when the audio would quit, I could rock the speaker switch back and forth and the audio would come back on for a little while. Display was always normal. Brought it to the dealer after a road trip where I was basically without a radio and they replaced the speaker switch but that did no good so they replaced the radio under ESP. No problem since.
