Default Overweight?

My girlfreind and I are leaving on a long road trip. I weigh 330lbs and she weighs 170lbs. We're on a 2009 Ultra. By my calculations we will be about 50lbs over the weight limits on the bike with luggage. The tires are both new stock Dunlops and the pressures are set to 40lbs each.

Does anyone have an opinion on the safety of this ride? Unfortunately I can't lose 100lbs before we leave .

Tell her to leave her 50lbs of accessories and shoes at home and you should be good to go.

Don't worry about it. You might up that rear tire pressure to max on the sidewall and run 50 PSI in your shocks. I saw a couple on a sportster one day and she was so big you could hardly see the rear of the bike. They were complaining about the shocks bottoming out. I didn't have the nerve to tell him why. Ride safe!!

depending on how long your trip is, where it is and what the temps are you will want to check your rear tire

yes they are new, no I don't think your going to need to replace it, but you will be surprised HOW FAST your will wear out your rear tire on a summer trip, in summer heat on a loaded down touring bike

just make sure you check it every day to ensure you are good.
