Default Ignition switch alignment tool?

I'm trying to get the fairing cap (cruise & ACC button cover) off so I can install the CVO bag switch for the garage door opener. My question is do you need the ignition switch alignment tool to get the ferrying Cover off. I can get the main ignition **** off but there is still the little post left. Do you need the ignition switch alignment tool to get that remaining post off if so how much is that tool.

Thanks
Mark

07 custom,
I need to get the cover off, which means after you take the lock off there is still a silver post left. That is what I need to get off, so I can pull the plastic cover off.

no, you don't. you just have to unscrew the nut on the post. make sure that you keep all the pieces in the right order and orientation. if not, you may be able to get it back together, but it may not lock....
