Shoei tends to fit round heads like mine. I agree with spending some time in a place with lots of helmets. Also wear the helmet for a few minutes so you can feel where the pressure points are. You'll want a snug fit it else you'll get alot of helmet shake

Find what fits you best! The full face will feel a little more constricting at first until you get used to it.
I recently bought an HJC CL-Max 11 Modular Helmet. It's the most comfortable helmet I've worn in a long time. I very seldom use my windshield anymore.

You gonna have to try them on, but I like my Fulmer modular...what I list is the large ear pockets for headset spearkers..nothing worse than the speakers pressing against your ears...after a while it really hurts. Plul I like the flip front....

check out Cycle Gear, they have a huge selection. I wear a HD Hybrid half helmet with a face shield which works great. Good luck.

Have the new N43E for the same reason you have for looking for something else, tired of bugs and rocks hitting me in the face. Fits my roundish head so may not be great fit for you but worth looking at. Easily convertible to a regular 3/4 helmet is 2 minutes. Best of both worlds. Only downside is it is noisy but has the best view of any full face I looked at.

Look at Fulmer Modus helmet... i have a long chin and it's the one with the most space in the front for me.

I was going 65 mph, it hurt like a bitch. No blood but actually gave me a headache.

Full Face Needs:
So now, looking at perhaps going to a full face.
1.) I got a pointy cranium like a bean, so most skid lids are hard to fit me, and
2.) I need the peripheral vision; i could wear my prescription sunglasses with a clear shield.

Who wears or knows of quality full face skid lid, that provides bean head fit, and good peripheral vision?
If by pointy if you mean long oval (longer front to back, narrower side to side) it can be harder to get a good fit. There are a couple of helmets that fit this head shape better though. At the high end Arai Profile and Arai Signet. At the lower end Scorpion EXO-750. See www.WebBikeWorld.com helmet shape chart. Pretty much any helmet will give you 100% peripheral vision if it fits correctly. Consider getting an extra tinted visor as they are way better than dark glasses worn under a clear visor and you can swap visors in 30 seconds with practice. I find dark glasses worn under a visor cause optical distortion especially if they are polarized. Also suggest investing in a bottle of anti fog spray. IMO look for an ECE 22.05 or Snell M2010 rating rather than DOT as they both are better. Also consider getting one with a removable liner so it can be hand washed. With FF helmets factors like helmet weight, venting effectiveness and fit accuracy are cost dependent but impact protection is not.

I have a Bell Full face and a Harley Half Helmet (the one with the integrated retractable lens). The full face is comfortable for me, but I only wear it when the weather starts to cool off and I put the windscreen on. My Bell is a Med, the half helmet is XS. DO NOT buy a helmet on line unless you have been to a shop and worn the helmet you are looking at getting. As others have mentioned, wear the helmet in the shop, and not just for a couple of minutes. Find a quiet corner, and wear it for a good 20 minutes or so. If it's uncomfortable, you'll know by then. You may feel goofy sitting around wearing a helmet, but most people wont even notice you and you'll be wearing it for a lot longer than 20 minutes. Like I said 2 different brands and two totally different sizes to fit so you can't assume that an XL in one brand will fit remotely like an XL in another brand. Good luck

I switched to a ff 2 years ago, planning to use it only for cold weather riding. I like it so much that I wear it all the time now. If I'm not riding the super slab I remove my windshield as well.

It took me about a week to get used to it as I had been wearing a 1/2 helmet for years. The only real difference I find now is when I have to back the bike up it's a little difficult to turn my head far enough to see directly behind me. As for riding the streets and highways, I have absolutely no problem with vision restriction.

It's a Shoei RF-1000. The padding is removable for washing, or replacing with different sizes to get it to fit properly. Mine fit great from day one.

I have several helmets for different seasons and reasons, etc. My 2 favorite are my Scorpian EX0-100 1/2 helmet with internal drop down face shield and my AFX, FX-72 1/2 helmet with manual pulldown shield. I run both helmets with a dark tint shield and wear my regular glasses, at nite or when stopped shields are up, and down during the day. I cant tell you how many times I have had stuff hit the shields. They protected many times from fling bugs and debri. I have tried fullface modular helmets with internal shield, was not for me for many reasons.
